Job summary

Ore Group is expanding its finance team and seeking a Controller reporting to the CFO. The role emphasizes integrity, confidentiality, and strong analytical skills in a fast-paced environment.

The successful candidate will manage group financial reporting, monthly/quarterly statements, tax compliance, and cash management while overseeing internal controls and budgeting processes. Hybrid work arrangement is offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience in finance/accounting roles.
• Strong understanding of corporate accounting, financial reporting and internal controls.
• Proficiency with accounting software and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Manage group financial reporting functions and reporting package.
• Prepare monthly financial reports including variance analysis.
• Prepare quarterly statements with note disclosure and MD&A.
• Assist with complex accounting matters and maintain internal controls.
• Oversee GST/HST/QST returns and tax compliance.
• Oversee accounts payable and invoice processing.
• Monitor monthly cash flow and banking activities.
• Prepare annual budget/forecast and variance analysis.

Job description

We are looking to expand our finance team by hiring a Controller. This role would report directly to the CFO. We are looking for an individual who is a team player, thrives in a fast-paced environment, is detail-oriented and can manage highly confidential information with a high level of integrity and discretion.

• Manage group financial reporting functions and group reporting package
• Prepare monthly financial reports including variance analysis
• Prepare quarterly financial statements with note disclosure and MD&A
• Assist with complex accounting matters
• Develop and maintain processes, procedures, and internal controls

Accounting

• Responsible for group accounting functions
• Responsible for month-end full accounting cycle

Payroll

• Payroll review and processing

Government and Regulatory

• Quarterly and annual GST/HST/QST returns
• Oversee tax compliance matters

Accounts Payable

• Oversee invoice processing

Banking and Cash Management

• Monthly cashflow reconciliation
• Daily monitoring of cash balance and tracking of payments

Budget and Forecast

• Preparation of annual budget / forecast and variance analysis

Other Duties

• As requested by the CEO and CFO

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting related program
• Mining public company experience preferably in the junior mining space
• Strong understanding of corporate accounting, financial reporting, and internal control matters
• Proficiency with accounting software
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills
• Attention to detail, able to work independently and reliable
