Controller

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Controller to join our client's dynamic team. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and providing strategic financial guidance to support our continued growth.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and deliver accurate, timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
• Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide management with insightful reports and recommendations.
• Develop and maintain financial models for budgeting and forecasting, ensuring accurate projections.
• Manage cash flow, ensuring adequate liquidity and financial stability.
• Oversee all accounting operations, including AP, AR, GL, and payroll, maintaining accuracy and integrity.
• Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
• Utilize and optimize Yardi software for property management accounting, reporting, and data analysis.
• Develop and manage the annual budgeting process and prepare regular forecasts and variance analyses.
• Ensure compliance with all accounting standards, regulations, and tax laws, and manage external audits.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
• Manage property-level accounting, including CAM reconciliations and tenant lease administration related to financial components.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in the real estate property management industry.
• Extensive experience with Yardi property management software is essential.
• Proven experience working in a small to mid-sized property management company.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Experience with CAM reconciliations.
• Knowledge of property tax accounting.
