Job description

Our client is a well-established local group with a strong reputation in the construction and property development sector. With a solid track record of successful projects and community contributions they are seeking a Controller to support their finance function for a 3 - 6 month contract.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on experienced professional to contribute to a dynamic organization based in New Glasgow with a hybrid schedule of 23 days per week in office.

Key Responsibilities for the Job :

  • Oversee full-cycle accounting including journal entries reconciliations financial statement preparation and month-end / year-end close
  • Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and corporate policies
  • Manage cash flow budgeting forecasting and financial analysis
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting
  • Support audits and tax filings coordinating with external auditors and tax authorities
  • Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and financial controls
  • Oversee two administrative staff

Experience & Attributes for Success :

  • Chartered Professional Designation (CPA) is required
  • 7 years of progressive accounting experience including full-cycle accounting and leadership responsibilities
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial reporting experience
  • Proficiency in accounting software particularly Sage300 and Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong collaboration with clients and internal team members
  • Excellent analytical problem-solving and organizational skills
