Qualifications

• Hands-on Controller or senior accounting experience required.
• Advanced Excel skills required.
• Experience with multi-segment account structures.
• Experience preparing for and working with Big Four audits.
• Strong financial reporting and full-cycle accounting knowledge.
• Experience leading a small accounting team.
• Hands-on, detail-oriented approach with a strong process improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statements.
• Maintain bank and credit card reconciliations and fixed asset records.
• Prepare and file sales tax returns and ensure adherence to accounting policies.
• Oversee weekly billings and payments.
• Lead and support a small A/P and A/R team.
• Provide back‑up support across A/P, A/R, and Financial Analyst functions as needed.
• Prepare for and liaise with external auditors.
• Finalize work instructions and drive process improvements.
• Participate in ERP improvements and ensure effective internal controls.
• Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis as required.

This role is critical in ensuring continuity and accuracy during a transition period, working closely with an outgoing contract Controller for knowledge transfer.
