JOB OVERVIEW

The Controller will oversee financial operations across all Sustana Recovery locations in the U.S. and Canada. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, this role is critical in driving financial integrity, performance management, and process standardization throughout the Recovery division. The ideal candidate will be a strong collaborator who ensures local financial activities align with corporate policies and strategic goals, while delivering insights that support operational excellence and growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage all accounting and financial reporting activities for Sustana Recovery locations.
  • Support the Corporate Controller in consolidations, compliance, and corporate reporting requirements.
  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for Recovery sites, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Develop and maintain annual budgets and rolling forecasts in coordination with site and corporate teams.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and compliance with U.S. and Canadian accounting standards.
  • Act as a key business partner for all the Recovery entities for tax / insurance and VAT related work / requests.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, systems, and reporting across all Recovery operations.
  • Coordinate site-level support for internal and external audits.
  • Assist in capital planning and investment analysis for Recovery operations.
  • Travel regularly to various Recovery facilities in the U.S. and Canada to provide on-site financial support and oversight.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including experience in a multi-site or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. and Canadian GAAP and financial compliance standards.
  • Experience as a plant controller, divisional controller, or similar multi-site finance leadership role.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, implement improvements, and drive business performance.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and financial reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel across North America to support local teams.
