Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Controller to oversee the financial management and accounting operations of our client's organization.

This role is based in the Tri-City area and requires in-office presence 4 days per week.

The Controller will be responsible for core accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, robust internal controls, and compliance with standards and regulations. Additionally, the role involves driving system improvements and serving as a strategic partner to leadership by providing key insights for business decisions.

Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Reporting
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements aligned with GAAP/ASPE standards
  • Provide timely internal financial reports, including variance analysis and performance insights
Compliance & Governance
  • Ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Manage statutory filings and compliance across jurisdictions
System Optimization
  • Lead ERP/system implementation and improvements
  • Ensure integration between finance and operational systems
Internal Controls & Policy Development
  • Design and enforce internal controls and policies
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks
General Ledger & Period-End Close
  • Oversee ledger activities and chart of accounts
  • Manage month-end and year-end processes
Transactional Oversight
  • Supervise accounts payable, receivable, billing, and cash management
Audit & External Coordination
  • Coordinate with external auditors and prepare documentation
Tax Management
  • Oversee tax filings and compliance
Qualifications
  • CPA designation is required
  • 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience, including audit and leadership roles
  • Technical expertise in GAAP/ASPE
  • ERP experience (Netsuite preferred)
  • Experience in process improvement and internal controls
  • Strong leadership and time management skills
