Controller

Canadian Rangeland Bison & Elk Inc. is looking for a detail-oriented, ethical individual to fill the role of Controller.

Canadian Rangeland Bison & Elk Inc. is a wholesaler/retailer of fine Bison and Elk Products to domestic, European, and US markets. We are in Lacombe, Alberta, and are comprised of a motivated team of 10 people.

The successful candidate will join a three-person finance team, including the CFO, and fulfil the following responsibilities:

• Establish and monitor internal controls and regulatory compliance
• Financial planning, budgeting, and expense control
• Prepare, analyze, and report monthly financial statements and reports
• Support and assist in the month and year-end processes
• Oversee office policies and procedures
• Assist in administrative duties as required
• Work with external accountants for year-end financials
• Oversee and coordinate administrative personnel
• Oversee and execute all accounting duties
• Manage the organization's day-to-day cash flow
• Oversee and facilitate payroll duties
• Manage data integrity and information reporting throughout the organization

Requirements:

• Previous accounting/payroll experience
• Post-secondary education in a related field. CPA preferably
• Full cycle accounting experience
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills with the ability to work within a team environment
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to manage priorities, perform various tasks and adhere to required deadlines
• Ability to adapt to industry-specific accounting software

Schedule:

Monday to Friday, 40-hour work week in the Lacombe office
