Position Overview:
The Controller will oversee all aspects of the company’s accounting, reporting and treasury functions. This is a mission critical role within the company’s Finance & Operations team; ensuring timely and accurate reporting, maintaining internal controls, and supporting strategic decision-making with data driven insights to help drive growth.

The successful candidate is someone who thrives in a a fully remote environment, experienced with working and managing global team members, and lives in Canada who can work in EST.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and tax compliance.
  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Own the corporate treasury function, including managing banking relationships, maintaining an accurate 13-week rolling cash forecast, and monitoring daily cash positions.
  • Oversee the full Order to Cash (O2C) process—including invoicing, collections, and cash application—to drive operational efficiency and working capital optimization.
  • Prepare internal financial statements and management reporting packages; support external financial statement preparation and audit processes.
  • Lead and mentor a small Finance & accounting team
  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls and accounting policies to ensure compliance and scalability.
  • Partner with FP&A and Revenue Operations to support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Lead the annual audit process, coordinating with external auditors and tax advisors.
  • Ensure accurate revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606.
  • Oversee equity accounting, including stock-based compensation and cap table management.
  • Evaluate and implement accounting systems and process improvements for scalability and efficiency.
  • Support M&A integration, due diligence, and financial systems alignment as needed.

Qualifications:

  • CPA designation required, from a Big 4 accounting firm preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong preference for SaaS or software experience
  • Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP, including ASC 606
  • Experience with Netsuite, advanced proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools.
  • Native English fluency both verbally and in writing.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor accounting teams.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to navigate high-growth, fast-paced environments

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in a venture-backed or private equity-backed company.
  • Familiarity with international operations or multi-entity consolidations.
  • Experience with other core tools (Ramp, Rippling, Salesforce, Vena)
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI for efficiency and effectiveness
