JOB SUMMARY : The primary objective of the position is to plan and organize the financial management of the company according to the allocated budget and management priorities. The incumbent also ensures the efficient functioning of purchasing, accounts payable, and payroll services, all while considering workplace health and safety, product quality, sustainability, environmental impact, productivity, and labor relations.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Prepare the annual budget for the site.
  • Monitor costs and related analyses.
  • Assist in decision-making by producing relevant reports in collaboration with department heads.
  • Track capital projects, as well as expense projects.
  • Ensure effective management of inventory for parts and finished products.
  • Complete the necessary steps for the accounting closure of financial statements.
  • Carry out monthly remittances for various source deductions.
  • Supervise the payroll preparation process for unionized employees.
  • Ensure that the budget for cost centers is respected and inform responsible parties of any discrepancies.
  • Conduct the annual evaluation of the management staff under their responsibility.
  • Participate in the hiring of the personnel under their supervision.
  • Participate in biweekly job observations (of unionized employees) with other department heads across all areas of the mine.
  • Coordinate local salt sales by truck for the main client M.T.M.D.E.T., the Municipality of Magdalen Islands, and other local contractors.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by their supervisor related to the position.

EDUCATION :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Accounting Sciences
  • Licensed CPA

EXPERIENCE : 5 to 10 years of work experience in an industrial environment

PROFESSIONAL SKILL : Functional French and English (spoken and written)
