We are seeking an experienced Control Engineer to join our client's successful team in Windsor, ON!

The Controls Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing control systems and solutions to optimize manufacturing processes and improve efficiency for a wide range of manufacturing equipment, including metal-forming, fabrication, finishing processes, and assembly.

Main Duties

  • Design and program control systems, including PLCs and associated automation equipment.
  • Lead the integration and commissioning of new equipment, ensuring compatibility and performance.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot control systems to minimize downtime and ensure reliability.
  • Provide hands-on support for diagnostics and repairs on manufacturing equipment.
  • Standardize control platforms and implement improvements to enhance productivity and system efficiency.
  • Analyze performance data to identify opportunities for process enhancements.
  • Ensure all systems meet IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 standards, incorporating safety features into designs; and continue to conduct risk assessments to enhance operatory safety.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or Technologist diploma in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field.
  • 5–7 years of experience in controls engineering within the automotive manufacturing industry.
  • Proficiency in programming and troubleshooting Siemens TIA Portal and Allen-Bradley platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and automation systems for diverse manufacturing equipment.
  • Preferred experience with CNC systems (G-code) and systems integration
  • Experience with IATF and ISO requirements.
