Job summary

Avior Integrated Products, a growing Quebec-based company with facilities manufacturing high-precision aerospace components, seeks a Contracts and Estimating Manager. You will draft and manage contracts, oversee proposals and estimates, and coordinate cross-functional teams to meet customer requirements.

You will partner with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Finance to validate assumptions, develop cost analyses, and deliver competitive proposals.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience drafting, reviewing, and managing contracts and commercial documents.
  • Relevant experience in a manufacturing environment and comfort working directly with plant operations and production-floor teams.
  • Experience in aerospace or another technically complex industry is a strong asset.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and development of cost and financial analysis models.
  • Experience preparing estimates and proposals.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop customer relationships.
  • Strong presentation and public-speaking skills with confidence addressing customers and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to explain complex technical, contractual, and financial information clearly.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in AS9100-certified environments or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of precision machining and mechanical assembly processes is an asset.
  • Professional proficiency in both French and English for communication with customers outside Quebec.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and update contracts, amendments, and commercial documents.
  • Ensure contracts reflect negotiated terms, customer requirements, and company commitments.
  • Coordinate and manage requests for quotation from initial receipt through final proposal submission.
  • Prepare or oversee detailed estimates covering labour, materials, processes, and subcontracting.
  • Develop Excel-based analytical models to evaluate costs, margins, and pricing strategies.
  • Work with Engineering, Production, Quality, and floor teams to validate assumptions and feasibility.
  • Lead preparation of complete proposals that comply with customer requirements.
  • Serve as primary customer contact for estimates, proposals, and contractual requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers and internal partners.
  • Analyze contractual requirements and technical clauses.
  • Prepare and deliver analyses and recommendations to senior management and customers.
  • Lead meetings and communicate complex information clearly.
  • Participate in negotiations on schedules, terms, warranties, penalties, and risks.
  • Ensure proposals comply with industry standards and aerospace requirements.
  • Assess feasibility of proposed projects and develop cost scenarios and pricing strategies.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of contract, proposal, and estimating processes.
  • Perform other related duties.

The incumbent plays a strategic role in drafting and managing contracts and overseeing the complete lifecycle of proposals and technical and financial estimates. This individual coordinates internal teams to produce clear, accurate, competitive contracts and proposals that comply with customer requirements.

Working closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Finance, the Contracts and Estimating Manager must understand the realities of a manufacturing environment and be comfortable interacting directly with plant operations and production-floor teams.

As the primary customer contact, this individual must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, build lasting professional relationships, and clearly present contractual, technical, and financial information to a variety of audiences.

Responsibilities
  • Draft, review, and update contracts, amendments, commercial agreements, and other contractual documents
  • Ensure that contracts clearly reflect negotiated terms, customer requirements, and the company’s commitments
  • Coordinate and manage all requests for quotation, from initial receipt through final proposal submission
  • Prepare or oversee detailed estimates covering labour related to machining, assembly, and automation, as well as materials, special processes, treatments, and subcontracting
  • Develop and maintain Excel-based analytical models to evaluate costs, margins, financial scenarios, and pricing strategies
  • Work directly with Engineering, Production, Quality, and production-floor teams to validate assumptions, manufacturing times, and project feasibility
  • Lead the preparation of complete, competitive proposals that comply with customer requirements
  • Serve as the primary customer contact for matters related to estimates, proposals, and contractual requirements
  • Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with customers and internal partners
  • Analyze contractual requirements, customer standards, and technical clauses
  • Prepare and deliver proposals, analyses, and recommendations to senior management, customers, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Lead meetings and communicate complex contractual, technical, and financial information clearly
  • Participate actively, with the support of senior management, in negotiations involving schedules, payment terms, warranties, penalties, and contractual risks
  • Ensure that proposals comply with industry standards and aerospace requirements related to quality, traceability, and regulatory compliance
  • Assess the technical, financial, and operational feasibility of proposed projects
  • Prepare comparative analyses, cost scenarios, and pricing strategies
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to contract, proposal, and estimating processes

Education
