Job Description

Contractor Sales Representatives partner with contractors to fully understand their needs and assist in planning construction projects. As knowledgeable sales professionals, contractor sales representatives can make recommendations that solve customers’ problems. This position offers a base salary plus uncapped commissions following a probationary period.

Responsibilities

  • Drive sales through customer engagement, suggestive selling, and sharing product knowledge
  • Clarify and understand customers’ needs and recommend the best solutions for their projects
  • Expand the geographic sales area by building new relationships with prospects and strengthening existing accounts
  • Achieve weekly, monthly, and annual sales targets
  • Prepare estimates and material lists, and follow up on deliveries
  • Take initiative and confidently manage customer interactions
  • Stay informed about the latest product trends and market conditions
  • Travel is required

Qualifications

  • Experience in a commissioned sales environment is an asset
  • Problem solver capable of working independently
  • Excellent communication skills and a team player
  • Organized with the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; willing to learn new software
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer sites
  • Knowledge of building materials and the construction process is an asset
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; bilingualism is an asset
