WORK ILLUSTRATION :
The Time System Analyst reports to the Manager, Time System & Analytics and is responsible for data gathering, analysis, reporting, and continuous improvement related to Time Management Systems and Governance.
The incumbent must behave ethically, adhere to the established code of business conduct, policies, internal control procedures, laws, and regulations governing Toronto Hydro.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Generate, analyze, and synthesize data for weekly, monthly, and annual reports to support management decision-making.
- Present data clearly and identify trends concisely.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to support confidential data requests and analytics across various business units, including Human Resources, Payroll, Finance, and Operations.
- Support employee inquiries and resolve escalated questions.
- Provide governance frameworks, tools, templates for time entries, and manage complex rules for applications like MyTime and SAP Time Evaluation.
- Ensure timely and accurate flow of time data to payroll.
- Advise leaders on compliance with collective agreements, policies, and legislation (Employment Insurance Act, Employment Standards Act, Wages Act).
- Work with leaders to manage systems, processes, and measures supporting continuous improvement and mitigate risks related to time functions.
- Coordinate small-scale system enhancement projects related to HR and time systems.
- Assist in developing business cases, gathering requirements, and conducting gap analyses for system solutions.
- Create new reports and improve existing reporting processes continually.
REQUIREMENTS :
- University Degree in Human Resources, Commerce, Statistics, Social Sciences, or related field.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in human resources data analysis and timekeeping.
- Experience working with time rules in a unionized environment, including interpreting collective agreements.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (conditional formatting, pivot tables, charts, graphs).
- Proficiency with MyTime and SAP systems.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation (Employment Insurance Act, Employment Standards Act).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of data analysis and systematic information gathering.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in report compilation and presentation.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
This position allows for a hybrid work environment, with remote work two days per week. Employees are required to work onsite Tuesday to Thursday and should reside in Ontario within reasonable commuting distance.
