Our federal government client is seeking the Technical Writer to support the development of military concepts and documentation. The role includes researching, writing, editing, and producing content aligned with future capability development and operational needs.

Tasks
  • Research and write concept, design, and discussion papers on military and capability development topics
  • Gather, analyze, and synthesize technical and operational information for target audiences
  • Produce accurate, clear, and concise documentation that meets organizational standards
  • Create final camera-ready copy using word-processing, desktop publishing, and graphics tools
  • Review and revise documents to ensure compliance with style, formatting, and content standards
  • Modify and validate content, ensuring clarity and consistency in technical language
  • Deliver briefings to communicate updates, terminology changes, and conceptual developments
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and project stakeholders to refine written materials
  • Support editing and verification processes for translated or adapted documents
  • Maintain version control and participate in regular reporting of writing activities and progress
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in any field from a recognized Canadian academic institution
  • At least two (2) years of experience contributing to military policy, doctrine, or concept documents
  • Strong ability to draft and edit technical and conceptual materials in a clear and structured manner
  • Familiarity with military language, operational structures, and document development processes
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Office and desktop publishing tools for professional document production
  • Experience in briefing and communicating complex technical content to varied audiences
  • Capable of remote work with occasional in-person collaboration as required
  • Reliability level of security clearance
