Contract Psychologist, Community Transition Team - Correctional Health Services

Join the Contract Psychologist, Community Transition Team - Correctional Health Services role at Provincial Health Services Authority.

This position involves supporting individuals during their transition from correctional facilities to the community, providing trauma-informed, recovery-oriented psychological assessments, interventions, and risk evaluations, primarily via virtual health care.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting psychological assessments for clients transitioning from correctional or inpatient psychiatric settings.
  • Providing evidence-based, trauma-informed psychological interventions.
  • Performing violence and suicide risk assessments.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Documenting care according to protocols and supporting clinical decision-making.
  • Participating in team meetings and program development initiatives.

Qualifications required:

  • Practicing registration with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia.
  • At least one year of clinical experience in forensic or correctional mental health settings.
  • Commitment to culturally safe, client-centered care.
