Job summary

Bombardier Aerospace, based in Dorval, QC, is seeking a Professional Senior Engineer in RM&S Engineering. You will lead safety analyses and certification activities for aircraft systems, ensuring compliance with ARP 4761/4754, FAR/CS 25.1309, and related requirements, while coordinating with Bombardier, suppliers, and regulators.

The role requires seven years of RM&S experience, a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, strong communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft 365.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical, Electrical or Mechanical engineering with seven years of RM&S experience.
• Strong aerospace background with understanding of aircraft performance, systems definition, interfaces, qualification, reliability and safety requirements, and certification processes.
• Knowledge of creating FMEAs, FTAs and Safety Analysis; familiarity with ARP 4761, ARP 4754 and related regulatory processes.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Aircraft / System Safety Analysis and/or Particular Risk Assessments and demonstrate compliance with ARP 525.1309, FAR/CS 25.1309 and other relevant requirements.
• Be responsible for Reliability, Maintainability & Safety deliverables specific to assigned systems.
• Identify, follow up, and resolve all system safety issues and particular risk issues in support of Continuing Airworthiness.
• Participate in hazard analysis, fault tree analysis, system safety assessment, FMEA/FMECAs and the final RM&S certification reports.
• Coordinate certification activities across Bombardier, partners/suppliers, regulators and customers; communicate status and technical proposals clearly.
• Promote integrity, respect and inclusivity within the team while driving positive change.

What are your contributions to the team?

• Prepare the Aircraft / System Safety Analysis and/or Particular Risk Assessments compliance reports and demonstrating compliance with AWM 525.1309, FAR/CS part 25.1309 and other relevant requirements.
• Be responsible for Reliability, Maintainability & Safety deliverables specific to assigned systems.
• Identify, follow up, and resolve all system safety issues and particular risks issues in support of the Continuing Airworthiness Process
• Participate in aircraft / system functional hazard analysis, fault tree analysis, system safety assessment, failure mode and effect analysis and the final R,M&S certification reports.
• The duties will also require certification activities involving co-ordination of technical issues and resolutions across all Bombardier, Partner/Supplier, Regulatory and Customer parties.

How to thrive in this role?

• You possess a Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical, Electrical or Mechanical engineering with at least seven (7) years relevant experience in the field of R,M&S.
• You have a strong aerospace background, and an excellent understanding of aircraft performance characteristics, aircraft systems definition, integration, interfaces, component qualification, reliability and safety requirements and certification process of aircraft systems.
• You preferably have been directly involved in the aircraft definition and certification.
• Knowledge of creating Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEAs), Fault Tree Analysis (FTAs) and Safety Analysis is required.
• You must be cognizant of the relevant Airworthiness Regulations such as ARP 4761, ARP 4754 and the certification process.
• You have the ability to communicate sound technical proposals and work status to management, be a team player, a self-motivated person and be able to work under pressure.
• You possess a strong sense of responsibility and integrity.
• You possess strong communication skills, verbal and written.
• You are familiar with a Microsoft 365 environment
