Job summary

Bombardier is seeking a Professional Engineer in Thermodynamics to perform analyses of heat transfer, aircraft icing, and related thermodynamics. The role includes framing results for design decisions, preparing test plans, and documenting ground and flight test results.

Ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s in mechanical or aerospace engineering, with 8–12 years in thermodynamics/icing, strong Excel skills, knowledge of Siemens Flomaster, and programming in Fortran, Python or C++.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in mechanical or aerospace engineering with coursework in fluid mechanics, heat transfer, in-flight icing and CFD analyses.
• 8–12 years of experience in thermodynamics and icing engineering.
• Strong MS Office skills, advanced Excel.
• Willing to travel for short-term assignments.

• Understand and frame the results within the context of the design and right sizing of an aircraft.

How to thrive in this role?

• You have a bachelor’s in mechanical or aerospace engineering (including courses or projects in fluid mechanics, heat transfer, in-flight icing and/or CFD analyses). Having a Master is an asset.
• You have a minimum of 8 to 12 years of experience in the thermodynamics and icing engineering field.
• Self-motivated and innovative team player.
• You have a good knowledge of MS Office software (advanced level for Excel).
• Knowledge of Siemens Flomaster is an asset.
• You are familiar with programming (Unix Operating System and with programming languages such as Fortran 77/95, Visual Basic, C++/C# & Python is an asset).
• You possess good interpersonal skills as well as good written and oral communication skills.
• Willing to travel for short term assignments.
