Job description

The Opportunity

The University Studies department at Keyano College is currently seeking Instructors to teach:

  • CHEM 101: Introductory University Chemistry I
  • EAS 100 - Planet Earth
  • ENVT 252 Y - Regional Plant Science

This position is a contract position. Applicants must feel comfortable working in a classroom and/or laboratory with adults of all abilities and backgrounds.

The University Studies instructors deliver quality classes and share subject matter expertise with students within the curriculum and course outline. The instructors also enter attendance and grade and perform other duties related to a teaching environment.

Note: this is not a remote or hybrid work opportunity, you will be required to work on campus and relocate to Fort McMurray, AB. Preference will be given to candidates currently living in Fort McMurray.

Qualifications

Chemistry Instructor:

  • Minimum Master of Science in Biology, Chemistry, Statistics or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1-year cumulative post-secondary teaching experience
  • Proficient with the use of learning technologies
  • Excellent classroom management and instructional skills
  • Must be ready to teach in a lab environment
  • Demonstrated excellent communication, planning, time management, and organizational skills
  • Dependable and resourceful team member with a proven track record of managing multiple competing priorities with a calm professional approach
  • Commitment to inclusion and diversity

Environmental Science Instructors

  • Minimum Master of Science in Environmental Science or a related field. Undergraduate qualification with experience in post-secondary teaching may be considered.
  • Minimum of 1-year cumulative post-secondary teaching experience
  • Proficient with the use of learning technologies
  • Excellent classroom management and instructional skills
  • Demonstrated excellent communication, planning, time management, and organizational skills
  • Dependable and resourceful team member with a proven track record of managing multiple competing priorities with a calm professional approach
  • Commitment to inclusion and diversity
