The Opportunity

The University Studies Department At Keyano College Is Currently Seeking Communications Instructors To Teach In The Following University Transfer Courses For The Fall 2025 Semester

  • ENGL 104 - Introduction to Critical Analyses
  • WRITE 102 - An Introduction to Academic Writing
  • SPCH 207 B - Dev Prof Speak Skill
  • WRITE 103 A - Scientific Writing
  • ENGL 126 A - Reading Popular Culture
  • ENGL 223 A/GOV - Reading Politics: Empire and the Post Colonial

These are contract positions. The University Studies instructors deliver quality classes and share subject matter expertise with students within the curriculum and course outline. The instructors also enter attendance and grade and perform other duties related to a teaching environment.

Flexible delivery formats (Online Asynchronous, Online Synchronous, & In person).

Note: this is not a remote or hybrid work opportunity, you will be required to work on campus and relocate to Fort McMurray, AB. Preference will be given to candidates currently living in Fort McMurray.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Successful Candidate Will Be Required To

  • Primarily teach students in related courses across the curriculum
  • Maintaining office hours and student mentorship/engagement
  • Maintaining professional competence and knowledge of subject matter
  • Develop/revise/update courses, including consulting with the Chair, Program Coordinator, faculty, advisory committees, and potential employers and students.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Master of Art in English, Composition and Rhetoric or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' post-secondary teaching experience
  • Proficient with the use of learning technologies
  • Excellent classroom management and instructional skills
  • Demonstrated excellent communication, planning, time management, and organizational skills
  • Dependable and resourceful team member with a proven track record of managing multiple competing priorities with a calm professional approach
  • Commitment to inclusion and diversity
