Job description

The Board invites applications from qualified teachers for the following position:

Technological Studies, Hairstyling and Aesthetics, Grade 9 and 10, and Grade 11 and 12

In accordance with the OECTA Collective Agreement, the Board shall identify the three (3) most senior applicants to the position who hold the required qualifications for the position, to be interviewed.

If no qualified occasional teacher applies, or if all qualified applicants decline the interview, the Board shall consider external qualified applicants who are not on the occasional teacher roster.

The Board shall access and review the information contained in an applicant's portfolio for hiring purposes. Applicants are encouraged to ensure their portfolio is current and contains all relevant information, including information about Additional Qualifications that are not currently listed on your Certificate of Qualification as issued by the Ontario College of Teachers.

Applicants that fail to respond within the timeline shall be deemed unavailable for the assignment.

About Us

As a Catholic Learning Community, the Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board provides faith formation and academic excellence, which enables our graduates to live a life of love and service in Christ. The Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board provides a Christ-centered education to approximately 12,000 students within 28 elementary schools, 3 secondary schools and a multisite Alternative Education school and 3 administrative offices.

The Board currently employs over 1500 permanent staff and approximately 350 casual and occasional staff which includes teachers who are supported by a team of consultants, principals and administrators and non-academic staff who work to ensure the best possible facilities, supports and resources are available to our students and the system. The Board encompasses the broad geographical area of the City of Brantford and the counties of Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk. We are located approximately one hour west of Toronto, one hour east of London and one hour south of Kitchener-Waterloo.
