Job summary

Whitecap Resources Inc. is seeking a Field Operator to support the Boundary Lake Operations, overseeing day-to-day production and the maintenance of field equipment to ensure safe, cost-effective oil production in Western Canada.

The role requires at least 3 years of oilfield experience, ability to work a rotating 8 days ON / 6 days OFF schedule around Goodlow, BC, and strong teamwork with a safety-first mindset.

Qualifications

• 3 years of relevant oilfield experience or equivalent.
• Pumping oil wells, booster pumps, water injection systems, and related equipment familiarity.
• Good computer skills.
• Safety training current and up to date including First Aid/CPR, H2S.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operation, inspection, maintenance, alteration and repair of field equipment.
• Ensure Environment, Health & Safety are a top priority with a safety-conscious attitude.
• Must be a team player with good communication and openness to new ideas.
• Complete and maintain accurate records and reports for field operation and equipment.
• Perform housekeeping around equipment and well sites to keep areas clean.
• Conduct safety and compliance inspections (Safety, Tanks, Lease, HIDs).
• Manage pipeline operations and maintenance (pigging, chemical programs, inspections).

Purpose

A key member for our Whitecap Resources Inc – Boundary Lake Operations, you will provide support to the operations team, ensuring that Oil is produced in an efficient and cost-effective manner which facilitates safety, health, environmental, and regulatory compliance and business stewardship. Your primary responsibility will be the day-to-day operation and maintenance of field equipment within assigned operations runs, while adhering to government and company standards.

Main Responsibilities & Activities

• Oversee the day-to-day operation, inspection, maintenance, alteration and repair of the field equipment.
• Ensuring Environment, Health & Safety are a top priority, and completing all work with a safety conscious attitude.
• Must be a team player with good communication skills and willingness to learn and be accepting and receptive to new ideas.
• Complete and maintain accurate records and submissions of all necessary documents and reports in relation to the field operation and equipment.
• Perform housekeeping duties as necessary on and around equipment, process area, and control room; keeping equipment and well sites clean and clear.
• Safety and compliance inspections (Safety, Tanks, Lease, H.I.D’s)
• Pipeline Operations and maintenance (Pigging, chemical programs, inspections)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• The ideal candidate will have 3 years of relevant experience; however, equivalent experience and qualifications will be considered.
• Pumping oil wells, Booster Pumps, Water Injection system, Satellite test buildings.
• Good computer skills are an asset.
• Self-motivated, open-minded and results oriented.
• Safety training current and up to date including: First Aid/CPR, H2S.

Working Conditions

• Qualified candidates must have ability to work an 8 days ON/6 days OFF shifts with a rotating schedule.
• Work location is around Goodlow B.C. No provided camp available.
• Successful candidate will be required to work overtime as well as holidays if they fall during normal work schedule.
