Summary

The Contract Monitor is responsible for escorting suppliers into Hydro One secure locations, scheduling vendor visits, and completing vendor job plans while ensuring all health and safety requirements are followed on site.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

1. Provide escort services within secured operational areas as required.
2. Ensure all visiting personnel sign in and out according to approved procedures.
3. Enforce proper health and safety practices.
4. Schedule supplier visits.
5. Complete vendor job plans.
6. Maintain professional interactions and good working relationships with vendors.
7. Keep supervisors informed of any unique situations or problems encountered.
8. Perform site inspections as needed.
9. Ensure work protections are in place when necessary.

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of Hydro One’s work environment is essential.
• 5–10 years of relevant work experience.
• High school diploma plus specialized technical or business training.
• Experience with installation, maintenance, and repair of Hydro One electrical equipment and control systems is an asset.
• Understanding of safety and security standards.
• Ability to act quickly and calmly in emergencies.
• Perform duties accurately, safely, and efficiently.
• Adhere to Hydro One policies and requirements.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to work harmoniously with colleagues, vendors, and regulatory personnel.
