Job summary

General Atomics Canada Corporation is seeking an experienced Program Manager to help lead the expansion of our Canada operation, overseeing planning, management, and technical performance of one or more programs with field locations in Ottawa, Greenwood, and Comox.

The role directs all phases of training and sustainment for the RPAS program, manages a mixed contractor workforce, and coordinates with Royal Canadian Air Force stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Direct all phases of the program from conceptualization through completion, including acquisition and planning to meet objectives.
  • Develop and coordinate program plans or delivery methods to serve customers.
  • Collaborate with technical staff and management to set annual and long-term objectives for the program.
  • Interact with senior management and customer reps about programs, decisions and contract clarifications; act as primary contact.
  • Influence preparation of proposals, budgets and contract terms; support negotiations and modifications.
  • Ensure technical leadership by directing talent planning, retention and development.
  • Identify issues and lead solutions, including reallocation of resources or changing contracts.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.
  • Observe all laws and safe operating practices in all company activities.
  • This position will be located at our new Ottawa office.
  • Base salary will be CAD 150k–195k annually; eligible for an annual bonus.

Job description

General Atomics Canada Corporation is looking for an experienced Program Manager to help lead expansion of our Canada operation. This position is responsible for the planning, managing and technical performance of one or more established program(s). Directs all phases of training and sustainment support to the Canada (Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) program, with field locations in Ottawa, Greenwood, and Comox Canada. Responsible for program execution and planning for moderate future growth in distinct product support. Manages a combined contractor and subcontractor workforce in provision of training and sustainment support to Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) MQ-98 mission execution. Represents the company on-site to Squadron and Wing leadership at three Canadian operational locations. Typically accomplishes objectives through subordinate managers. Responsible for decisions that could have an extended impact on outcomes where erroneous decisions could result in critical delays and modifications to programs.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Direct all phases of the program(s) from conceptualization through completion, including acquisition, planning and managing technical performance to ensure quality, business and financial objectives are attained.
  • Develop and coordinate program plans or delivery methods to serve customers.
  • Collaborate with technical staff and/or Division/Group executive management to develop and implement current, annual and long-term technical, schedule, quality, business and financial objectives for the program(s). May also contribute to the development of Group/Company objectives which have a long-range forecast projected to continue for multiple years.
  • Interact with senior management and customer representatives regarding programs, operational decisions, scheduling requirements and contractual clarification. Act as primary contact for program issues.
  • Influence, and coordinate the preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements and specifications, operating budgets, and financial terms/conditions of contract(s). Influence contract acquisitions, negotiations and modifications.
  • Ensure technical leadership and excellence is maintained by directing and participating in the planning, attraction, selection, retention, and development of the required management, professional, and technical talent.
  • Identify program issues and provide leadership in developing solutions such as re-allocation of resources or modifying contract specifications.
  • Other duties as assigned or required.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company. Expected to work in a safe manner in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.
  • This position will be located at our new office in Ottawa.
  • Base salary for this position will be between 150,000 and 195,000 CAD annually. This position will be eligible for an additional annual bonus.
