Location: New Westminster/Coquitlam Campus

Salary Range:

  • Hourly: $52.41-$114.65/hour
  • Per Three Credit Course: $7,947
  • Actual salary or hourly rate will be based on the number of credits and term of appointment according to the Collective Agreement.

Applicants may be contacted as needed for teaching courses for a semester, for completing courses in cases of faculty leaves during a semester, or for short-term substitution during the semester.

WHAT IT TAKES

The Department of Psychology and Social Science invites applicants for placement on a contract and on-call list of instructors. Applicants may be contacted as needed for teaching courses for a semester, for completing courses in cases of faculty leaves during a semester, or for short-term substitution during the semester.

You will instruct students, facilitate learning and evaluate student progress in College courses. You will plan, organize and manage learning activities and resources, provide academic advice to learners and maintain quality learner-centered instruction.

A completed Ph.D. in Psychology or related field from an accredited university is required to instruct any Psychology course within the Department.

Preference will be given to candidates who have the background to teach or who have satisfactorily taught one or more of the following:

  • Introductory Psychology
  • Introductory Statistics
  • Vocational Assessment and Counselling
  • Psychology of Women

Experience teaching courses in these subjects in a post-secondary institution is an asset.

Additional Information

The Psychology and Social Science Department of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences is seeking contract instructors beginning in the Fall 2025 semester.

The successful candidate may be required to teach days and evenings at both of the Douglas College Campuses in New Westminster and Coquitlam.
