Job description

Hourly: $52.41 to $114.65 per hour; Per Three Credit Course: $7,716.
Actual salary or hourly rate will be based on the number of credits and term of appointment according to the Collective Agreement.

The Computing Science Department is seeking sessional instructors for the 2025-2026 academic year.

As a faculty member you will instruct students, facilitate learning and evaluate student progress in College courses. You will plan, organise and manage learning activities and resources, provide academic advice to learners and maintain quality learner-centred instruction.

Applicants must have a minimum of a Master’s degree in one of Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an appropriate equivalent, from an accredited university and relevant post-secondary teaching experience. The successful candidate must be qualified to teach first- and second-year university transfer computer science courses. Experience with C++ and Python Programming is required. Experience with any of the following would be an asset: Game Development, Software Engineering, Data Structures, Object-Oriented Design, Digital Logic, and Computer Architecture.

Applicants will be considered for this position based upon their experience, qualifications and availability.

Additional Information

The Faculty of Science & Technology currently offers a one-year Certificate in Computing Science, a two-year Computing Science Diploma (with a Game Development stream), an Associate of Science in Computing Science, as well as first- and second-year courses for students transferring to university degree programs.

We are seeking an excellent Computing Science instructor who brings experience and a demonstrated ability to support, motivate, and challenge students in first- and second-year Computing Science courses.

Most Computing Science courses are currently offered at the New Westminster Campus, but in future may also occur at the Coquitlam Campus.
