Our client, a leading EPCM company with projects across Canada is currently recruiting for a Contract:

Civil/Structural Engineer

You are a motivated self-starter and team contributor with at least 10 years of progressive Civil/Structural Design experience within Power Plants and hydro infrastructure. You also bring the following skills and experience to the team:

COMPETENCIES

• Knowledge and proficiency in design and analysis of steel, concrete structures, building and equipment foundations, and pilings.
• Prepare, verify, and implement structural design calculations.
• Codes and Standards: Knowledge and proficiency with Structural Analysis programs STAAD Pro and S-Frame is a must. Knowledge of other regulatory and industry codes and standards is an asset.
• Experience using STAAD Pro, S-Frame; experience with additional software/tools is an asset. Must be comfortable working in an industrial establishment and reviewing models.
• Excellence in interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to operate independently as well as in a team environment.
• Demonstrated extensive experience in hydro civil/structural facility design, concrete repair, and engineered lifts.
• Experience of heavy civil earthworks – earth fill dams, site drainage, lagoons, berms, pond, and storm water management.
• Project management experience, including the development of scopes of work, cost estimates, technical specifications, procurement documents and bidding evaluations, as well as contract negotiation and management.
• On-site services including site inspection, field survey, construction supervision, and commissioning support.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (P. Eng) registered with APEGS (or eligible to register).
• Previous civil/structural design experience required.
• Motivated, self-starter with the ability to work under minimal supervision.
