Job description

We are seeking an experienced Contract Administrator with a background in municipal infrastructure and rehabilitation projects to join our Construction Services team in the Greater Toronto Area. You will play a key role in ensuring construction and rehabilitation activities adhere to contract specifications, standards, and client expectations.

What You’ll Do:
  • Perform Contract Administration duties throughout all the phases of construction and rehabilitation ensuring adherence to contract specifications.
  • Act as the owner’s representative during construction with assistance from design engineer/s and field inspectors.
  • Prepare monthly progress payment certificates and issue Change Orders.
  • Review Contractor’s submissions including but not limited to; traffic control plans (in light of OTM Book 7), shop drawings, schedule, paving and concrete pour plans, watermain commissioning plan etc.
  • Coordinate with material testing firm to ensure all mix designs and specified materials are approved in advance of construction.
  • Chair pre-construction, pre-pave, pre-concrete pour meetings.
  • Review and respond to contractor’s RFIs.
  • Manage change on fast-moving projects and achieve resolution in a timely manner.
  • Be a team player and comfortable with partnering principles and best practices.
  • Issue Certificate of Substantial Performance per Construction Act.
  • Develop contractual responses proactively to position the owner as a leader.
  • Train junior staff in inspections and contract administration.
  • Support site inspections through occasional site visits.
What You Bring to the Team:
  • P.Eng or C.E.T.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in Contract Administration and Inspections; design experience is a strong asset.
  • In-depth knowledge of OPSD/OPSS standards and construction staging.
  • Understanding of Occupation H&S Act, the Construction Act, OPSS MUNI 100 General Conditions, and Ontario Regulation 406/1 (excess soil management).
  • Proficient in Builterra platform (Dailies, Progress Payment, Tendering).
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and coordination skills.
  • MTO project experience is a strong asset.
