Contract Administrator

As a contract administrator in the architecture field, you will oversee contracts between all parties during the construction phase. You will act as an impartial administrator to ensure contract terms are followed, quality is maintained, and issues or disputes are resolved effectively.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Administer construction contracts for active projects.
  • Review drawings, specifications, submittals, attend site meetings, perform site reviews, and issue reports.
  • Review and process payments and certifications.
  • Monitor compliance with contract documents and review the quality of construction work, providing solutions to site conditions. Prepare non-compliance reports, including corrective deficiency holdbacks.
  • Coordinate with design staff to resolve interferences, review contractor substitutions, and manage change notices and directives.
  • Interpret architectural, engineering, and interior design plans; prepare material lists and specifications for construction standards.
  • Write technical descriptions specifying material qualities and properties, based on knowledge of standards, processes, or manufacturing procedures.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of related experience in contract administration.
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field.
  • Familiarity with multiple provincial guidelines.
  • Deep understanding of how to compile clear construction documents.
  • Strong experience and knowledge of Revit software.
