Position: Continuous Improvement Specialist (One Year Contract)
This position will play a key role in the Longo’s Continuous Improvement Department driving sales, productivity, cost management, and profitability, while addressing operational needs and delivering on the promise to exceed customer expectations. This is undertaken through the optimal utilization of tools and applications to ensure effective decision making and business function.
What you’ll do:
  • Lead process improvement events by identifying and Implement change and project management principles
  • Investigate, model and quantify changes to processes, equipment and methods
  • Document process changes (process maps, SOPs)
  • Complete analytics and current state process review prior to events
  • Expectation that improvements identified will ensure standardization of procedure, i.e. production guide development/ use across all locations
  • Assigning, verifying and maintaining workflow, and ensuring accepted methods and procedures are followed and deadlines are met.
  • Assessing process performance (team member and analytics) and has input into corrective action
  • Support the development of process models, to create a baseline that provides a representation of the current as-is business process.
  • Process map to centralize business processes
  • Ensure positive customer experience is a primary driver in process improvement within all organizational aspects
What we are looking for:
  • The position requires the application of a thorough and sound level of knowledge of the major principles and concepts in a specialized or professional field, in order to manage projects with a short to mid-term focus.
  • University degree preferably in Industrial Engineering, Economics, Commerce, Business, Math / Computer Sciences or Engineering, OR equivalent work experience.
  • 2 to 3 years of process engineering experience, great starter role for someone who just completed their education in this field
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing/ operating principles and experience in analysis and development of methods, standards and procedures, work flow design, layout and cost control
  • Experience working in retail and/ or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with tools like Lean, Six Sigma, Industrial Engineering highly preferred. Certified Six Sigma Black Belts or Green Belts highly preferred.
  • High level of interpersonal and communication skills working with all levels within the organization
  • Superb organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple demands and be responsive to continuous change, strong sense of urgency
  • High Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), Micro strategy
