Toyota Canada Inc. is currently hiring for an exciting opportunity for a results-driven candidate to fulfill the role of Continuous Improvement (Kaizen) Coordinator at the Montreal Vehicle Processing Centre (MVPC). This full-time position, reporting to the Manager of the MVPC, will play a key role in promoting continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and the application of Toyota Way principles through hands-on collaboration and strategic guidance.
The successful candidate will guide a production environment, prioritizing safety, employing the Toyota Way values while demonstrating strong influence and maintaining the highest Toyota quality standards, using the fundamentals of the Toyota Production System.

What You’ll be Doing:
- Assist the VPC Manager in achieving key operational goals and objectives.
- Apply Toyota Way and TPS principles across VPC operations to help TCI’s quality standards
- Identify and pursue continuous improvement (Kaizen) opportunities
- Collaborating with team leads to ensure seamless day-to-day operations
- Ensure timely implementation and alignment with new PPO requirements
- Foster strong inter-departmental communication
- Collaborate with the production team to standardize workstations, process flows, and yard transfer operations for improved efficiency
- Drive and administer training programs related to Health & Safety, ISO 14001, Toyota Way, TPS, Kaizen, and accessory installations
- Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to reinforce best practices and ensure consistency across teams
- Apply Genchi Genbutsu principles to investigate and resolve production obstacles at the source
- Perform root cause analysis and offer solutions for production areas that are non-compliant with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Identify, assess, and report vehicle quality issues to PQSS and issue Quality Notifications to dealerships when applicable
- Crosstrain to assist Team Lead functions and provide operational guidance during absences
- Oversee rail line-off and truck-away operations to ensure timely and accurate vehicle processing
- Assist the VPC Manager in setting production goals, establishing performance standards, and monitoring VPC activities
- Assist in internal requests and initiatives from departments such as PDC, Press, and Inventory Management
- Maintain daily communication with VPC business partners to ensure alignment and operational continuity
- Act as the primary point of contact and operational lead in the absence of the VPC Manager
- Perform additional duties as required to help the team and departmental goals
What You’ll Bring:
- University degree or College diploma, preferably in Logistics related studies, Production Engineering, or a related discipline
- Practical experience in Logistics field is highly valued
- 5+ years of experience in the management of a production/operational facility
- Prior people management and team-based experience are an asset
- Advanced performance management experience: strategies towards empowerment, team building, and accountability within a multi-faceted environment
- Knowledge of how to drive continuous improvement (Kaizen) and production efficiencies
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
- Excellent oral and written communication (French & English)
- System experience with ICL, YMS, SAP
- Knowledgeable/understanding of Toyota Production System practices
- Experience with budgeting and establishing programs to evaluate budget impact of new measures
- Excellent leadership, organizational skillset
- Advanced strategic thinking, methodical and critical thinking dexterity
- Aptitude to maintain multiple priorities, a large team while initiating and improving work processes to increase efficiencies
- Knowledge of ISO Management systems is an asset
