Summary

We are looking for passionate Continuous Improvement Engineer or Analyst with at least 5 years’ experience to drive strategic transformation through Lean Manufacturing and Value Stream Mapping. The ideal candidate will lead initiatives such as 5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and 8-D to eliminate waste and enhance productivity. Proficiency in designing new fixtures using 3D CAD tools like SolidWorks, and experience with digital simulation tools such as FlexSim or equivalent, is required. Working closely with Production leadership, this role fosters a sustainable culture of operational excellence. While based at a single facility, the position supports continuous improvement across multiple locations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform time studies, workflow analysis, and value stream mapping to identify and implement improvements in productivity, safety, quality, and cost..
  • Take a hands-on approach to lead root cause investigations and implement practical solutions to eliminate production inefficiencies.
  • Design and develop production fixtures using 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks to support process optimization and ergonomic improvements.
  • Implement and sustain continuous improvement systems, including Kamishibai audits and visual management tools, to ensure long-term performance gains.
  • Facilitate and lead Kaizen events, defining objectives, estimating ROI, coordinating resources, and tracking results to drive impactful change.
  • Provide labor ROI and work content analysis to senior leadership to support strategic decision-making and resource planning.
  • Create and update Work Instructions and SOPs, and lead technical training sessions and hands-on demonstrations for production teams.
  • Collaborate on new product introductions and changes, identifying efficiency opportunities early in the design-to-production process.

Requirements

  • Proven experience (5+ years) in manufacturing environments with strong knowledge of production line operations, process mapping, capacity planning, and efficiency evaluation.
  • Practical expertise in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement methodologies; Lean certification strongly desired, Six Sigma certification a plus.
  • Skilled in conducting time studies, value stream analysis, and using simulation tools such as FlexSim (or equivalent) for evaluating and optimizing manufacturing systems.
  • Proficient in designing fixtures and layouts using 3D CAD tools like SolidWorks and AutoCAD to support process improvements and ergonomic design.
  • Strong background in developing SOPs, technical documents, and work instructions; capable of leading hands-on technical training sessions across functional teams.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, safety regulations, and compliance practices, particularly in high-volume production settings; fenestration industry experience is an asset.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills with the ability to respond quickly and effectively to unplanned events or operational challenges.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate across departments and drive engagement from production staff to senior management.
  • Strong time management, organization, and multitasking abilities, including planning and executing multiple improvement projects simultaneously.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in preparing technical reports, presenting findings, and influencing continuous improvement culture across teams.
  • Knowledge of process capability analysis and related tools, such as Minitab or equivalent software.

Working Conditions And Requirements

  • Lifting and/or carrying anywhere from 10lbs to 75bs.
  • Operate primarily in an office and plant environment.
  • Use standard office equipment such as laptop computers, 3D printers and smartphones.
  • Working in an office environment with possible local travel requirements.
  • Needs to be comfortable working in a manufacturing production floor at times.
  • Pressure to produce tangible results and complete projects within tight timelines.
  • Requires a high degree of attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Ability to travel between facility locations as required.
  • Weekend Availability required on occasions.
