Emily Carr University of Art + Design is seeking Continuing Studies Instructors for their UI Design Micro-Certificates. Job Summary
The Continuing Studies department at Emily Carr University of Art + Design is seeking experienced designers/educators to join our instructional team for our soon-to-be-released User Interface (UI) Design Micro-Certificates. These short-format micro-certificates provide practical, hands-on learning for emerging designers looking to build foundational and intermediate UI design skills.
We are looking for applicants with proven teaching experience who are enthusiastic about working with diverse learners, from those new to design, to creatives transitioning into UI, to experienced designers looking to expand their skillset with UI design. If you are excited to teach foundational skills, design processes, and industry-standard tools in a collaborative studio environment, we want to hear from you.
About our Foundations Micro-Certificates:
The UI Design Micro-Certificates offer accessible, practice-based training for emerging designers building their skills in user interface design. Each micro-certificate includes three connected courses delivered over eight weeks. Instruction is hands-on and emphasizes design fundamentals, creative process, and applied learning.

These micro-certificates are designed for early-career designers, career changers, and creative professionals seeking to build their UI design skills. Continuing Studies students bring a range of experience levels and can come from various disciplines, including graphic design, fine arts, communications, and self-taught practice.
Schedule + Compensation:
We offer two distinct, stackable micro-certificates as part of the UI Design Micro-Certificates. Courses may be scheduled on weeknights and/or weekends, depending on the term and delivery format.
Individuals should have a degree and/or professional experience in UI design, product design, UX/UI, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preference is given to those with prior experience and demonstrated passion for teaching at a post-secondary level. A Master’s degree is preferred.
