Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) is seeking qualified Secondary Teachers for the Continuing Education Adult Day School program. The Quadmester 2 period runs from November 9, 2026 to January 19, 2027, with classes from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, in person at Adult High School.

Pay rate is $56.84/hour plus 4% in lieu of vacation, and a paid 1-hour staff meeting is required prior to Quadmester 2. Applicants must hold OCT Intermediate/Senior qualifications and be in good standing with the OCT.

Overview

The Continuing Education Adult Day School program offers secondary Reach Ahead credit courses in the following subjects: English, ESL, Mathematics, Science, Social Sciences and Humanities, as well as the Ontario Secondary School Literacy course. The Continuing Education Adult Day School program operates out of the Adult High School from Monday to Friday each week from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm according to the schedule below.

As per Article 40.02(c ) of the collective agreement, and in the event that the Employer cancels two (2) or more days/evenings of Continuing Education courses as a result of unforeseen circumstances beyond its control, Continuing Education teachers will be required to attend and teach one replacement day.

This is the only posting for Quadmester 2 (November 9, 2026 - January 19, 2027) of the Continuing Education Adult Day School. There will be subsequent postings for each quadmester, which applicants must apply to in order to be considered for a position in each respective quadmester.

All interested teachers, with or without Continuing Education (CE) Seniority, must apply to this posting following its posting guidelines. Late applications cannot be considered. Applicants MUST be in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers and hold Intermediate/Senior qualifications that are featured on their Ontario Qualification Record Card. As per the Collective Agreement, Article 40.02 (a - ii), applicants with CE Seniority who appear on the October 2026 Continuing Education Seniority List and hold the required qualifications will be considered first for teaching positions.

Where positions remain after all CE Seniority teachers who applied to this posting have been placed, remaining applicants may be offered positions according to their OCT qualifications based upon the remaining positions, and in accordance with Policy Equitable Recruitment, Hiring and Promotion.
