The School of Public Health invites applications for a contingent tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Health Systems Leadership and Transformation. The development of a series of graduate certificates that will stack toward a proposed Master of Health Systems degree is a key strategic priority for the School. The successful candidate will play a central role in advancing this initiative, serving as Program Development Lead and providing academic leadership for evidence synthesis, curriculum and course design, stakeholder engagement, and program implementation.
We are seeking an exceptional scholar whose work engages deeply with health systems and practice, and who brings expertise relevant to health systems leadership and transformation. The successful candidate will have a strong record of rigorous, applied, and policy-relevant scholarship, as well as experience working with health-system leaders, governments, and decision-makers to address complex system challenges. Relevant areas of expertise may include health systems management and leadership, health policy, evidence-informed decision-making, implementation science, program and policy evaluation, and organizational and health system transformation.
In this role, the appointee will build on and sustain an externally funded program of applied, policy-relevant research that addresses priority health system and policy questions and generates rigorous evidence to inform policy, practice, and decision-making. They will also contribute to graduate education that prepares health system professionals and trains future scholars to address complex challenges in contemporary health systems. They will develop and teach courses in their areas of expertise and contribute to experiential and action-oriented learning, including mentoring learners as they apply evidence, policy, leadership, and systems thinking to significant challenges within their organizations and the broader health system.

This position provides a distinctive opportunity to integrate scholarship, policy engagement, research training, and the education and development of current and emerging health system leaders. The successful candidate will contribute to the School’s Area of Excellence in Public Health Systems Leadership and to its broader mission of improving community health by engaging partners in world-leading research, learning, and action for societal impact.
