About The Opportunity

• Outlier is looking for talented writers with fluency in English to help train generative artificial intelligence models.
• This reading and writing-intensive freelance opportunity is remote and the hours are flexible, so you can work whenever is best for you.

You may contribute your expertise by…

• Reading English text to rank responses produced by an AI model.
• Writing and rewriting prompts and responses, involving research and fact-checking.
• Assessing the factuality and relevance of AI-generated text.

Examples of Desirable Expertise

• Experience as a professional writer or editor.
• Currently enrolled in or completed an associate degree or higher in a writing-related discipline.
• Strong writing style, exceptional English spelling and grammar, and good logic and reasoning skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to clearly explain strengths and weaknesses of texts.

Payment

• Rates for core project work in the US range from $15 to $35 USD per hour.
• UK: up to £11 to £27 GBP per hour.
• Canada: up to $20 to $48 CAD per hour.
• Australia: up to $22 to $53 AUD per hour.
• New Zealand: up to $25 to $58 NZD per hour.
• Rates vary based on expertise, location, and project needs. Higher rates may be offered to PhDs. Lower rates may apply during onboarding or overtime phases. Some projects include incentives. Please review payment terms for each project.
