Lyft is seeking a Content Systems intern to join our Content Systems team in Toronto for Summer 2027. You will help design and build our internal content system and work across design teams as a content design and learning design partner.

Expect to translate complex concepts into clear in-product copy and learning materials while collaborating with designers, researchers, engineers, and product managers. This in-office role on a hybrid schedule will require you to be in Toronto at least a few

• Pursuing a degree in a writing or UX-adjacent field from a Canadian university (Canada), with graduation between Dec 2027 and Summer 2028.
• Available Summer 2027 for an internship in Toronto.
• Portfolio required with sample UX writing, information architecture or education design.

Content Systems is the heart of the company's language ecosystem. The team is made up of two distinct disciplines, Content Design and Learning Experience Design, who create and own language across the company's in-app experiences that help customers succeed on the the company platform.

We're looking for a Content Systems intern to join our team for the summer.

This role will both help design and build our internal content system (think information architecture), and embed in a rotation of design teams as a content design/learning design partner in building products across the the company community. Of course, you won’t be alone. You'll work with designers, researchers, marketers, and product managers day in and day out to develop experiences that reach and resonate with riders.

This internship will take place in our Toronto office during Summer 2027.

What we're looking for

Responsibilities:

• Support our content system by establishing and translating information architecture to help manage content across the company
• Help teams reconsider existing systems and processes (eg publishing workflows) to align to the new information architecture
• Support product strategy and vision through content, working on projects as a content designer and learning experience designer
• Translate complicated concepts into clear in-product copy (UI, notifications, errors, and more) and learning materials
• Collaborate with designers, visual content creators, researchers, engineers, marketers, data science, product managers, and other stakeholders across tech and ops
• The ability to translate concepts across the UI, learning center, and knowledge base into connected content objects
• Manage multiple projects and competing priorities
• Maintain, evolve and champion the the company brand voice and style

Skills:

• Excellent writing skills; ability to demonstrate this in the UX writing, information architecture, or education design space preferred
• A systems mind that considers the holistic information experience
• Ability to understand and discuss strategy, metrics, and results
• A collaborative, proactive mindset
• Nice to haves:
• Experience with design tools (Figma)
• Experience with content management systems (Ditto, Contentful, etc)
• Knowledge of accessibility best practices

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelors, Masters or PhD degree in a writing or UX-adjacent field like English, Journalism, User Experience, Design, Education, Sociology, Psychology or Creative Writing from a university in Canada, with a graduation date between December 2027 and Summer 2028 (required)
• Available during Summer 2027 for an internship in Toronto
• **Required: A portfolio must be submitted with your application and should include at least 3 samples/case studies demonstrating one more of the following: UX writing, information architecture, education design.*Note: Great candidates might not have a traditional background or strong experience in this field.
