About The Opportunity

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Digital Content, the Content Producer is responsible for creating and maintaining high-quality content on the CPA Canada website (cpacanada.ca). The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, an excellent writer/editor who will help guide a centralized content intake process, develop content that enhances the CPA Canada brand and action a regular content governance plan. This role requires collaboration with multiple business units to help define and refine their content offerings creatively, while coordinating with the user experience team to optimize the visitor journey and deliver on business objectives.

The position offers the flexibility of remote work or a more traditional work option. The targeted annual salary range for this role is $61,000 to $72,000 and is commensurate with experience.

What You'll Do

This role consists of:

EDITORIAL SUPPORT

  1. Write and edit all new web content and update existing content using a clear, consistent and compelling voice.
  2. Collaborate with departmental content owners on development and management of content, providing guidance on web content best practices.
  3. Liaise with customer experience, marketing and communications teams to ensure integrated/consistent messaging across digital channels.
  4. Lead the writing and content curation for the organization’s flagship newsletter.
  5. Monitor and track web content performance to optimize content strategy.

WEBSITE MAINTENANCE

  1. Recommend strategic content improvements and placement in support of unifying content initiatives across the organization.
  2. Identify relevant content to regularly update home page and pillar pages that promote the organization’s business priorities and reflect value proposition.
  3. Build/update content in CMS to support day-to-day publication needs.
  4. Work with UX team on site-wide maintenance, ensuring content is current, optimized for search and mobile and AODA compliant.

CONTENT GOVERNANCE

  1. Ensure a streamlined content lifecycle by creating a regular content audit schedule for the organization’s website to update and retire content based on relevance.
  2. Audit and restructure website based on evolving brand priorities and content improvements, including optimization based on data-driven insights.
  3. Contribute to the development of uniform web writing style guide and newsletter best practices to maintain a consistent brand voice across the website and products.
  4. Monitor industry trends and best practices in content governance.

What We’re Looking For

  1. University degree in Communications or Journalism (or equivalent work experience)
  2. 3-5 years’ experience in a similar content production role
  3. Excellent writing, proofreading and editing skills and a knack for storytelling
  4. Ability to digest complex information and deliver it in an audience-friendly manner
  5. Experience using Sitecore CMS or similar CMS platforms for managing web content
  6. Working knowledge of The Canadian Press style guide
  7. Demonstrated understanding of web content strategy and best practices
  8. Project management experience and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  9. A self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  10. Digital marketing and/or user experience skills are an asset.
