Description

Purpose

The Content Marketing Specialist develops and executes content strategies that support brand growth, engagement, and conversion across Armstrong Collective and its portfolio of brands including Rocky Mountaineer and Canyon Spirit. This role is responsible for delivering high-impact, search-optimized content across owned digital and social channels, aligned with business goals and performance metrics.

Working cross-functionally, the Specialist ensures content initiatives enhance brand storytelling, support marketing campaigns, and contribute to revenue goals. They must have a strategic mindset, strong editorial skills, and a passion for storytelling that resonates across channels.

This role is a 1 year fixed term contract.

Key Areas of Accountability

• Support the development of the annual content and storytelling strategies.

• Generate and develop content storytelling ideas aligned with brand tone of voice that ladder up to overarching content strategy and marketing objectives and consider consumer insights.

• Write and edit content for email, website, blog and social media that informs, engages or supports guests through the customer journey.

• Manage the content creation process of blogs, and short-form and long-form videos including:

• Briefing and reviewing content from internal team members and external partners.

• Ensuring all content is high-quality and aligned with our brand guidelines and is factually correct.

• Developing a distribution plan for content across owned and partner channels.

• Overseeing the editorial calendar and production including milestones and timelines.

Campaign Management and SEO Support

• With oversight from the Leader, work on integrated marketing campaigns and product launches across our owned channels including:

• Creating content campaign strategies based on overall campaign strategies and goals.

• Aligning with brand and digital marketing team members.

• Delivering on high-impact content, either through original copywriting or by collaborating with freelancers or internal team members to execute on the content strategies.

• Managing timelines and providing workback schedules to support completion of work.

• Collaborate with publishers and provide editorial direction to deliver on sponsored content partnerships that align with the overarching campaign initiatives and brand strategies.

• Create high-quality and search-optimized content on our websites that drives engagement and reach.

Social Media Management

• Support in the development of social media and community engagement strategies.

• Oversee social media channels to ensure consistent brand aesthetic and tone of voice.

• Monitor social media trends and apply relevant insights to our brands and channels accordingly.

• Manage social media content across all relevant channels including:

•Fulfilling social media requests for content.

•Owning the social media editorial calendar including content posting.

•Create or collaborate with content creators on social media posts and videos including management of timelines and deliverables.

•Resharing user-generated content.

• Collaborate with the Partnership Marketing and Communications team to engage with external partners (i.e. DMOs, hotels, travel agents) and influencers on social media to leverage and/or share content.

• Provide occasional support with social media monitoring and community engagement as needed.

Reporting & Optimization

• Monitor, analyze, report and continually optimize content performance

• Contribute to a data-driven culture, working closely with external and internal partners and agencies to measure efficacy and efficiency of content initiatives.

• Share key learnings and insights with the wider Global Marketing team to implement any recommendations.

• Communicate and champion the Content team’s work across the Global Marketing team by providing clear, timely, and relevant communication on content initiatives.

Qualifications

Education, Certification, Licenses

• Post-secondary degree/diploma in Marketing, Communications, or Business

Experience

• 5 years’ experience in progressive content marketing roles

• Basic graphic design and video editing skills (e.g. Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.)

• Experience using social media management platforms (e.g. Sprout Social, Crowdriff)

• Proven experience in managing a variety of content projects across multiple channels and budgets

• Proven experience with SEO, paid social advertising, creative direction (e.g. for videos) and email marketing

• Proven practitioner of building a social brand founded in research, insight and storytelling

• Excellent editorial skills, and ability to write creative, engaging content

• Experience in travel/tourism an asset

  • Vancouver corporate-based; Hybrid role, minimum 3 days in office.

Compensation

  • The base salary offered for this role is $63,000 to $75,000 per annum and can vary based on job-related expertise, qualifications, experience and internal equity.
  • Eligible for Armstrong Collective’s discretionary bonus program
