We are Moving2Canada, a multi-award winning platform committed to simplifying the move to Canada for our community. We are seeking a content marketing specialist passionate about delivering clear, captivating copy to a global audience. The position is open to candidates across Canada.

The hired candidate will be expected to integrate quickly and make significant contributions in three key areas: SEO, written content creation on behalf of commercial partners, and short-form copy for social platforms.

Our Content Marketer will work alongside our existing marketing team and report to our Operations Manager.

Primary responsibilities

  • Copywriting on behalf of commercial partners. This may include longer-form guides, shorter-form content to showcase job opportunities, building forms, and other types of sponsored content.
  • Producing exciting, relevant content to attract the attention of would-be immigrants to Canada and new arrivals.
  • Optimizing CTA positioning to maximize email sign-ups, profile creations, and partner conversions, ensuring a seamless and engaging experience.
  • Identifying needs and gaps in our content and recommending new topics.
  • Growing organic traffic by executing SEO recommendations quickly and efficiently.
  • Producing content for Social Media platforms.
  • Researching for and drafting e-guides, white papers, and other forms of non-webpage content formats.
  • Taking complex subject matter related to Canadian immigration systems, programs, and news, and making it simple to understand for newcomers with varied English-language skills.
  • Proofreading and editing posts before publication.
  • Ensuring the Moving2Canada brand remains consistent and attractive.
  • Exploring new ways to research, verify and present information.

Knowledge of Canada’s immigration system and programs is crucial for this position; either you have worked in this field previously in some capacity, or you’re a self-starter who can study and master this beat quickly.

Qualifications

  • An exciting portfolio.*
  • A minimum of two years of content production experience.*
  • Strong SEO fundamentals, including ability to conduct keyword research and optimize existing content.*
  • A creative mindset, with an eye for detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Team player.

*These requirements may be waived if you already know Canada’s immigration programs well and you write clearly and confidently.

Bonus points

  • Deep knowledge of Canada’s banking and financial systems (double bonus points for strong copy you’ve had published on these and adjacent subjects)
  • Design skills.
  • Understanding of social media platforms and specifications.
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop and/or InDesign.
  • Experience using WordPress and/or other Content Management Systems.
  • A proven entrepreneurial streak, such as by having pitched ideas to publishers and been commissioned for work, or by having been involved in a start-up project, or by some other initiative you can point to proving a zeal for spotting new opportunities and getting things done.
  • You have immigrated to Canada, or, if you are Canadian, you have moved location at least once in your adult life (you have unique insights into the journey!)
