About the opportunity:

• Outlier is looking for talented writers with fluency in English to help train generative artificial intelligence models.
• This reading and writing-intensive freelance opportunity is remote and offers flexible hours, allowing you to work whenever it suits you.
• Your tasks will include reading English texts to rank responses produced by AI, writing and rewriting prompts and responses (which may involve research and fact-checking), and assessing the factuality and relevance of AI-generated text.

Examples of desirable expertise:

• Experience as a professional writer or editor.
• Currently enrolled in or completed an associate degree or higher in a writing-related discipline at an accredited institution.
• A strong sense of writing style, with excellent English spelling, grammar, logic, and reasoning skills.
• Attention to detail and the ability to clearly explain the strengths and weaknesses of a given piece of text.

Payment:

• Core project work pays approximately $15 to $35 USD per hour in the US.
• In the UK, rates are estimated up to £11 to £27 GBP per hour.
• In Canada, rates are estimated up to $20 to $48 CAD per hour.
• In Australia, rates are estimated up to $22 to $53 AUD per hour.
• In New Zealand, rates are estimated up to $25 to $58 NZD per hour.
• Rates vary based on expertise, skill assessment, location, project needs, and other factors. Higher rates may be offered to PhDs. Lower rates may apply during onboarding or overtime phases. Some projects may include incentive payments. Please review payment terms for each project.
