Overview

The Office of the Leader of the Opposition is seeking a highly motivated and creative Content Creator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a strong eye for design and video, skilled in creating compelling content for multiple platforms, and comfortable working in a fast-paced political environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Graphic Design – Create eye-catching visuals for social media, websites, newsletters, and printed materials that align with our brand voice and messaging.
  • Video Editing – Edit and produce engaging short- and long-form videos for social media and other platforms.
  • Social Media Management – Draft captions, schedule posts, monitor engagement, and adapt strategies for platforms including Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
  • Administrative Support – Assist with various office tasks, including coordinating media assets, managing digital archives, providing social media reports, and supporting other projects as needed.
Qualifications
  • Relevant experience and/or post-secondary training in content creation, social media management, and digital communications.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro) or similar design/video tools.
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences and platforms. Basic understanding of the Conservative movement and the ability to craft messages that advance our objectives.
  • Ability to work quickly under tight deadlines with strong attention to detail.
  • Highly organized, proactive, and a collaborative team player.
Working Conditions

This role is on-site in Ottawa, often in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment that will require evening or weekend work to respond to breaking news or events.
