Content Creator and Social Media Coordinator
Working with the Cancer Research Society’s (CRS) Communications and Marketing team, the Content Creation and Social Media Coordinator will help plan, create and deploy content that showcases the CRS brand, mission, researchers, donors, partners and events across its various platforms. We are looking for a creative, dynamic, curious and proactive individual with excellent interpersonal skills who enjoys taking action, meeting people, and turning moments, ideas and stories into engaging, authentic content.
12-month full-time contract position, hybrid – Downtown Montreal (McGill metro station)

Role and Qualifications
Main Responsibilities
- Plan, write and create original, impactful bilingual content for the CRS’s social media channels and website;
- Develop and produce photo, video and written content, both in planned settings and on location, to showcase the CRS mission, researchers, donors, partners, events and stories, while ensuring that visual content is tailored to each platform;
- Manage the content calendar and tailor posts to objectives, audiences and the specific characteristics of each platform;
- Engage online communities, monitor platforms, trends and competitors, and identify relevant content opportunities;
- Recommend and implement content initiatives designed to increase the reach, engagement and visibility of the CRS;
- Attend selected CRS events and activities to produce and share content in real time or afterward;
- Prepare performance reports and analyses of the CRS’s social media presence to optimize content in line with business objectives;
- Support the team in managing and coordinating vendors for advertising campaign deployment and optimal visibility of the CRS on search engines (SEO, SEM, GEO).
Requirements
- Undergraduate university degree or any combination of education and experience in communications, marketing, media, content creation or a related field;
- Two to three years of experience in content creation and/or community management
- Excellent spoken and written command of French and English: essential;
- Strong command of major social media platforms and tools, including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and TikTok, Facebook Business Manager, X, Bluesky, YouTube and Facebook Ads;
- Demonstrated experience taking photos and videos for digital content creation (essential);
- Ability to edit video quickly and efficiently to adapt content for different digital platforms;
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop) and video editing, an asset;
- Experience in a non-profit organization or fundraising environment, an asset;
- Knowledge of influencer marketing, an asset.
Qualifications and Abilities
- Good understanding of the conventions and distinctive features of social media platforms;
- Comfortable creating photo and video content, particularly with a smartphone;
- Willingness to work on location, meet people, quickly build trust, and feel comfortable both in front of and behind the camera;
- Initiative, creativity and strong organizational skills;
- Independence and ability to manage several projects simultaneously;
- Awareness of the realities and values of a mission-driven non-profit organization.
