About Us:

The Mental Health Foundation (MHF) raises funds to enhance mental health and addiction recovery through integrated systems of care, research, and education. We support essential programs and services to ensure Albertans have accessible mental health care when they need it most. Position Overview:

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, action-orientated, results-driven Content Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate is a natural collaborator with a positive attitude and strong solution-based work ethic. Reporting to the Manager, Community Engagement, the Content Coordinator will be responsible for researching and creating engaging content that informs the reader about our funded programs and services, and aligns with the Mental Health Foundation’s writing standards. The Content Coordinator will play a pivotal role in executing our social media strategy, engaging with our audience, and maintaining a unified brand voice across various platforms. To excel in this role, the candidate should have exceptional creative writing skills and a keen eye for captivating storytelling.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Researching and brainstorming ideas for content that represent the funded programs and services of the Mental Health Foundation.
  2. Producing engaging, clear written content for use on our social media channels and email newsletters which aligns with MHF’s brand and style guidelines.
  3. Scheduling posts across social media channels including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
  4. Scheduling monthly email newsletters.
  5. Creating and scheduling digital ads for Facebook.
  6. Tracking and reporting on social media, email marketing, and advertising analytics.
  7. Engaging with the audience on MHF social media channels through re-posting, reacting, and commenting on posts.
  8. Supporting on-site event management, including set-up, registration, and troubleshooting.
  9. Other duties, as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

  1. Currently enrolled as a student or recent graduate in a relevant field (e.g., Journalism, Marketing, Communications, English).
  2. Previous experience in content creation or coordination, preferably within a nonprofit organization is an asset.
  3. Excellent understanding of social media platforms.
  4. Comfortable interacting with a diverse range of stakeholders and attending community events as a representative of MHF.
  5. Strong writing and communication skills with the ability to convey ideas clearly and concisely.
  6. Strong organization and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  7. Ability to work independently to complete assigned projects within defined deadlines.
  8. Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively within a team.
  9. Experience using Microsoft 365, Sprout Social, and MailChimp is an asset.
  10. Experience creating and scheduling digital ad campaigns is an asset.
  11. Familiarity with or interest in fundraising and philanthropy, particularly in the field of mental health and addictions, is an asset.
  12. Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a good driving record (abstract) and reliable vehicle required.
