Job Description

We currently have an opening for an Intermediate Contaminated Sites Scientist to join our team in Whitehorse.

You have environmental consulting experience in contaminated site assessments and an understanding of the regulatory environment in the Yukon. You want to work in a dynamic team environment and actively contribute to a variety of interesting and challenging projects.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Field surveys and travel to remote locations.
  • Writing work plans and proposals, technical reports, and communications for non-technical audiences.
  • Soil, surface water, vapour and groundwater quality investigations.
  • Data management, analysis and reporting
  • Collaborating with a dynamic team of environmental scientists and engineers across various geographies.
  • Building professional relationships with clients and regulators.


Job Requirements

What you will bring:

  • Undergraduate degree in an environmental discipline (e.g., biology, environmental science, geography, earth science, or soil/reclamation science).
  • 5+ years' experience with contaminated sites science.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication.
  • Proficiency with software for word processing, data management, and presentations.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, track progress on multiple tasks, and meet deadlines within a team environment.
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations and standards for the practice.
  • Valid driver's licence.
