Qualifications

THE OPPORTUNITY

Triton Environmental Consultants Ltd. (“Triton”) is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Contaminated Sites Qualified Environmental Professional to join a well-established team of environmental professionals. This role is based anywhere within British Columbia.

The successful candidate will be part of the Assessment and Reclamation team working throughout western Canada. Responsibilities include supporting and providing technical oversight in project delivery and mentoring junior staff. Our client base includes regional clients, multi-national oil and gas companies, government, First Nations, power management, and transportation firms.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  1. Planning, organizing, and providing technical oversight for contaminated sites projects.
  2. Providing regulatory expertise regarding contaminated sites work.
  3. Liaising and negotiating with partners, clients, regulators, contractors, and sub-contractors.
  4. Writing and reviewing technical reports, cost estimates, and proposals.
  5. Leading technical teams to ensure quality, cost, and timeliness of deliverables.
  6. Mentoring and training environmental professionals.
  7. Maintaining excellent service and relationships with clients.
  8. Supporting business development initiatives.
  9. Ensuring safety standards are maintained or exceeded.
  10. Collaborating within Triton’s corporate culture.
  11. Acting as Triton’s contact with Engineers and Geoscientists BC and related tasks.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of seven years of relevant experience in contaminated sites and remediation.
  • P.Eng. or P.Geo designation in BC.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, regulations (e.g., BC EMA, CSR, HWR, CCME).
  • Experience in other jurisdictions (AB, ON) is an asset.
  • Project management and leadership experience.
  • Adaptability to new software and systems.
  • Strong report writing skills.
  • Organized, self-managed, collaborative.
  • Problem-solving skills with innovative thinking.
  • Valid driver’s license with no restrictions.

Compensation
