Job description

The Learning and Development (L&D) Manager will support the Development Pillar’s vision of driving value to our people, business and clients by fostering a culture of continuous learning. They will help cultivate an environment where education, coaching and teamwork are valued, and our people actively seek challenging opportunities to learn and develop to their full potential.The L&D Manager, with guidance from the Consulting L&D Leader, is responsible for the design, development, implementation and evaluation of Consulting Learning solutions, from inception through to business impact. This role works with a degree of independence and will lead and be accountable for various L&D programs, projects and teams.

Meaningful work you’ll be part of

As a Consulting Learning & Development Manager, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to address business challenges, deliver high-quality client service, and foster a culture of continuous learning. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders across the business, including program sponsors, subject matter experts (SMEs), and other internal teams.

  • Develop and deliver high-quality learning strategies and solutions aligned with the Consulting strategic plan.

  • Collaborate with program sponsors, SMEs, and the global Consulting L&D network to tailor solutions for Canadian purposes.

  • Identify and proactively manage project risks and critical success factors, including training needs analysis and specific learning objectives.

  • Organize and facilitate instructor briefings, train-the-trainer events, and course facilitation as required.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of programs and implement adjustments based on feedback from instructors, participants, and the business.

  • Develop and execute implementation plans, including budgeting, scheduling, communications, and curriculum setup.

  • Mobilize, coach, and manage L&D Senior Associates and Associates.

  • Ensure compliance results are reviewed, and appropriate actions are taken, including reporting to leadership and developing remediation plans.

  • Represent Consulting L&D in committees, meetings, and strategic workstreams.

Experiences and skills you’ll use to solve

  • Strong interest in learning and development (L&D) with a desire to cultivate knowledge and skills in this area.

  • Understanding of Consulting focus areas and how they translate into L&D priorities.

  • Ability to design and implement innovative solutions that address business challenges effectively.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize work under tight deadlines.

  • Strong consulting skills, including effective communication (both written and oral) and maintaining collaborative relationships.

  • Proficiency with standard Firm technologies (e.g., Microsoft applications, Growth Centre Rise) and an aptitude for learning new software.

  • Ability to work effectively in teams and independently, often in virtual or hybrid environments.

  • Experience in facilitating learning sessions and/or instructional design is helpful but not required.

  • Strong supervisory skills, with a focus on coaching and performance management.

  • Judgment to involve appropriate stakeholders and incorporate their input for consensus-driven solutions.
