Job summary

Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) in Toronto is seeking a Consultant, Risk Analytics to evaluate risk/reward strategies for new and existing accounts. You will develop reports and dashboards to provide leadership with insights, while supporting analytics across the portfolio in a hybrid work model (1–3 days on-site).

You will bring SAS, Python and SQL skills with a background in Business/Math/Statistics or MBA.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Business/Math/Statistics or MBA or equivalent.
  • Experience in risk analytics and lending portfolios.
  • Proficiency with SAS, Python and SQL; strong data analysis and visualization skills.

Responsibilities

What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the Director, Indirect Auto and Business Banking Lending, the Consultant, Risk Analytics will be involved in evaluating strategies that balance the risk/reward tradeoff for new and existing accounts, conducting ad-hoc analysis to support decision making, developing reports that offer insights into the business and supporting analytics efforts in the portfolio.

You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How you’ll succeed
  • Credit risk analytics – You will support the development of proposals/business cases for credit risk scorecards, system or rule changes that will enhance credit risk management performance. You will also conduct pre and post-analyses of acquisition strategy performance and make specific recommendations to improve future performance.
  • Reporting and insights – You will develop dynamic dashboards that senior leadership can view to understand trends and insights.
  • Stakeholder management – You will forge collaborative partnerships with stakeholders by identifying strategic opportunities to enable profitable growth, reduce exposure and adapt to changing market conditions, while operating within overall risk appetite.
Who you are

You can demonstrate experience. Technical proficiency with SAS, Python, and/or SQL and Databricks. It’s an asset if you have retail lending product knowledge. You have a degree/diploma. Degree in Business/Math/Statistics, MBA, or equivalent work experience.
