Job summary

Earnscliffe Strategy Group is a leading Canadian public affairs and communications firm seeking a Consultant in Public Relations to support integrated programs. The role involves research, media relations, social media, content development, and event support for local and national clients.

The ideal candidate brings 4–8 years of experience, especially with B2B technology clients, and demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
  • 4-8 years of related professional experience; agency experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting B2B technology clients is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strong client relationships and maintain relationships with media and other stakeholders, participating in engagements and delivery.
  • Draft initial work plans, reports, press materials, Q&As, fact sheets, and speaking notes aligned with client needs.
  • Assist with planning and staffing project activities and budgets to meet scope and objectives.
  • Provide creative ideas for PR campaigns to deliver measurable results.
  • Share strategic input to address client challenges and support business development.

Salary Range: $60,000.00 To $76,000.00 Annually

Consultant, Public Relations

From advocacy campaigns and stakeholder engagement to branding, content, and digital communications, we help clients move their objectives forward through strategies that are clear, creative, and effective.

Working with local and national clients, you will support the delivery of integrated communications programs through research, media relations, social media, influencer relations, content development, and event support. The ideal candidate will bring experience in B2C and B2B technology communications, including media and social media campaigns, along with a strong curiosity about Canada's political, economic, social, and technology landscape.
Responsibilities & Duties
  • Develop strong client relationships and maintain relationships with media and other key stakeholders, participating in client engagements, contributing to project planning, research, and delivery.
  • Develop initial drafts of work plans which may include reports, communication materials (e.g., press releases, Q&As, fact sheets, speaking notes, media backgrounders and web content) and other project documentation in alignment with client needs.
  • Assist with planning and staffing project activities and budgets to meet the scope, budget, and client objectives.
  • Provides creative, outside-the-box ideas to client deliverables for PR campaigns that deliver measurable results.
  • Proactively share ideas and strategic input with internal team members to address client challenges and support business development initiatives.
Education & Experience
  • Demonstrated working knowledge and experience in the relevant area of focus or workstream; Typically requires 4-8 years of related professional experience. Agency experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
  • Experience supporting B2B technology clients is considered an asset.
  • Familiarity with consulting processes and client service standards.

  • Demonstrates proficiency with research tools, data analysis platforms, and productivity software such as Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Works effectively within teams, contributing to a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Produces clear, professional written communication including reports, presentations, and emails.
  • Manages tasks, timelines, and resources efficiently to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Communicates ideas and information clearly and confidently with both internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Handles multiple responsibilities and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Analyzes and interprets data, transforming it into actionable insights and meaningful recommendations.
  • Adapts to new tools, information, and processes rapidly to stay effective in dynamic project settings.
  • Begins to establish and maintains strong, professional relationships with clients, team members, media contacts and other stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills with the ability to engage confidently with senior client stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates the ability to mentor and support junior team members.

This position is a full-time, permanent, hybrid role and is open to candidates located in Toronto and Ottawa.
