Consultant Psychiatrist & Deputy Medical Director

We are seeking an experienced full-time Consultant Psychiatrist and Deputy Medical Director to work at Cygnet Hospital Kewstoke. The role involves providing senior medical cover on Nash Ward, our 12-bed PICU service for men, or Sandford Ward, our 16-bed female acute service.

The post holder will be the Responsible Clinician, overseeing and maintaining the care of all ward inpatients as required. They will also be responsible for auditing medical services to ensure high quality in accordance with GMC standards and other professional guidelines.

Your expertise will drive life-changing treatments, supported by a Specialty Doctor and a multidisciplinary team including nurses, psychologists, and occupational therapists.

This position offers the opportunity to progress to Medical Director through our management schemes.

Main duties of the job

Cygnet Hospital Kewstoke has a "Good" overall CQC rating. It provides emergency admissions for men and women, and a pathway for women to rehabilitation, including a specialist service for personality disorder, accommodating up to 71 patients.

The post holder will serve as the Responsible Clinician with overall medical responsibility for patient treatment, liaising closely with the multidisciplinary team.

They will act as a positive role model, maintaining a professional and constructive attitude towards patients, families, visitors, and staff.

We seek an experienced full-time Consultant Psychiatrist at Cygnet Hospital Kewstoke, providing senior medical cover on either Nash Ward or Sandford Ward.

The post holder will be the Responsible Clinician, overseeing inpatient care, auditing services, and ensuring quality standards are met.
