Background on Venn

RTV’s Venn ecosystem is the data and technology unit based in Uganda, supporting program design, monitoring, evaluation, learning, and adaptation. Venn integrates analytics, AI, and digital tools to optimize decision-making. Its portfolio includes:

  • Custom software solutions for data insights, program learning, and decision support
  • AI-powered knowledge products
  • Custom software for planning and program design
  • The Implementation Application, a microservices-based tool for frontline staff and partners, evolving into a comprehensive program delivery and decision-making platform.

Job Description

RTV seeks an experienced Product Management Consultant to lead and oversee product management for Venn. The role involves refining our product approach, ensuring user-centered, scalable, and impact-driven solutions, and strengthening departmental integration to position RTV as a leader in digital development solutions for last-mile communities in SSA.

  • Define and refine Venn’s long-term product strategy aligned with RTV’s mission and impact goals.
  • Develop an integrated product ecosystem combining data analytics, learning resources, and decision support tools.
  • Establish success metrics for product adoption and impact.

Execution & Delivery Support

  • Oversee product lifecycle from ideation to post-launch optimization.
  • Implement agile practices for continuous improvement based on user feedback.
  • Ensure products meet usability, security, and compliance standards.
  • Guide integration of AI, machine learning, and analytics into products.
  • Use real-time data insights for iterative improvements.

User-Research and Product Understanding

  • Conduct field research, stakeholder interviews, and usability studies.
  • Identify barriers and propose improvements.
  • Utilize A/B testing to refine features.
  • Develop user-friendly products for diverse stakeholders, especially in low-connectivity environments.
  • Advise RTV leadership on product structuring, scaling, and integration strategies.
  • Coordinate with Data Insights, Engineering, AI/ML, Software Development, and Learning teams.
  • Explore co-development or licensing opportunities.
  • Work with IT to ensure security protocols are integrated.

Capacity Building & Team Development

  • Assess organizational needs and develop capacity-building initiatives.
  • Create training materials to promote internal adoption.
  • Define roles and responsibilities for future product leadership.

Requirements and Experience

  • 10+ years in product management, with experience in data solutions and digital scaling, preferably in development contexts.
  • Strong background in data-centric products with AI components.
  • Proven cross-functional team management skills.
  • Deep understanding of agile, product strategy, and impact-driven tech solutions.
  • Experience in international development or low-connectivity environments is a plus.
  • Exceptional strategic, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
